AMS 2526 Specification
AMS 2526E is the most recent specification for applying Molybdenum Disulfide in a heat resistant inorganic binder via an impingement method.
For material to be compliant it must pass these periodic tests:
ASTM D7091 - Nondestructive Measurement of Dry Film Thickness of Nonmagnetic Coating Applied to a Ferrous Base ( 5um or less for AMS 2526)
ASTM D 2714 - Calibration and Operation of the Falex Block-on-Ring Friction and Wear Testing Machine ( > 15min time to failure)
ASTM D2510 - Adhesion of Solid Film Lubricants (Pass/Fail) is performed weekly and tracked internally and is a quality test for each order.
All lots of our material are tested for the above tests through an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab. Our product "FAST ML-5" is compliant with AMS 2526.
The only way to ensure a MoS2 coating is truly compliant to AMS 2526 is to perform the above tests using MoS2 in the application machine used in production. This is a requirement of our largest customer and an advantage we have over many competitors. At F.A.S.T we certify our material on a lot by lot and application machine basis raising the bar to ensure valid AMS 2526 certified service.
